It's been such a long time since he has seen Xerxes Break, that Ryo finds himself quietly shuffling along the hallways and down to the dungeon where they first met. He's sentimental today, and besides that he has always loved this room.

He'll be in there when Ryo arrives, systematically cleaning toys, replacing things onto racks that had been previously set aside and labeled with dates. Everything smells faintly of disinfectant, like he's given all of the equipment a good once over. The floors shine with damp.

Because someone has to maintain this place, and it matters to him too.

Ryo looks down at the floor and takes two quick steps backward, then removes his shoes and socks. His feet are clean; his own hair is still damp from a shower earlier.

"Hi."

An informal but cautious greeting; what if this isn't the Break he knows, after all.

"-Ryo."

He says, shocked, smiling. Holding out his arms to him.

"My goodness. I thought you'd gone home!"

Ryo runs to him, slipping a little on the floor but ultimately happily clinging to him.

"I did, but I came back. I thought you'd left, or--or something. How have you been?"

[maddest]

"I've been wandering in and out of realities more actively than usual."

He admits, holding him tight, kissing the top of his head.

"Missing you dreadfully."

[moderndayghost]

"How many realities?"

He nestles closer, tucking his head up under Break's jaw. The thought of dealing with more than the two he has on his plate now is dizzying.

"I missed you, too...so much, sir."

[maddest]

"Home, the hotel, Adstringendum, Sanctum. And I've just left the mansion."

He sighs in relief, stroking Ryo's hair.

"You don't have to 'sir' me out of context, Ryo. Unless that was a proposition?"

[moderndayghost]

"That must be so confusing...."

He looks up, blue eyes (no contacts today) pale and a little wicked. He cautiously kisses Break's lower lip.

"It was. Please, sir...?"

[maddest]

"You look beautiful today."

Kissing his forehead. He can't quite spot the contact difference, but he lets him know all the same.

"Thank you, si-- Mister Break."

Warm and happy with the praise.

"You always look good. ...Tell me what's new? I can help you clean."

[maddest]

"No. Go, lock the door while I finish. Then undress and pick a piece of equipment."

Grinning.

Ryo nods and scampers away, bolting the door and finding comfort in doing so.

He takes his time with the equipment, though. He wants something sharp, mean.

"Tell me- a mood. The kind of thing you want."

Proposing, quietly.

"Tell me if I scare you, or scare you off?"

[moderndayghost]

This is different, and Ryo looks at the item he chose, then at Break.

"I wouldn't leave you if I was scared, sir. I like being scared. It makes it more fun for me."

Understatement.

[maddest]

"Do you want to be scared today, Ryo?"

He proposes, very quietly, looking over his shoulder at him.

He's very somber when he nods.

"Yes, please. ...If you like that, too."

[maddest]

"We have all this water."

A bucket of clean stuff, that he hasn't yet used for mopping.

"Have you ever had a bad experience with it?"

[moderndayghost]

He shakes his head, brow furrowed. Then he imagines what Break might mean and oh, his eyes light up.

[maddest]

"All right. Go set up a saline drip."

He orders him, softly.

[moderndayghost]

He starts walking toward a box.

"You mean, like an IV drip? Like in hospital?"

[maddest]

"Yes, but fix it to the suspension point you chose."

He smiles.

"And we won't need the needle. Just get the bag hanging."

He'll do the rest.

He is definitely intrigued now, and so he sets up as fast as he can, shivering a little because he's naked as he does so.

"Is this all right, Mister Break?"

[maddest]

"Very good. There should be a body bag in the cupboard, over there. One of the latex ones that cinches at the throat."

Going to get a few more tubes.

He looks at Break in quiet surprise, but finds what he means. He holds it up for inspection, and frowns at it quizzically.

"Why does it cinch here like this, sir?"

[maddest]

"Because the top can be a hood. But I think we'll leave you face out."

Moving to take it from him, once he's set up.

"Climb in."
